Whale watching in Washington State is popular from April through
September and usually focuses on the area around the San
Juan Islands. This area provides beautiful scenery, calm water and
an abundance of different wildlife. The most fascinating and well-known

whales, there is a large variety of other wildlife to discover. Visitors have
the opportunity to see Transient Orcas, Mink whales, Gray whales, Dell’s and
Harbour porpoises, seals, sea lions, bald eagles, many kinds of seabirds and
blacktail deer.
