Here you’ll encounter deer, otters, mink, black bears, mountain lions and elk (and rattlesnakes and black widow spiders!) Mechanical vehicles are banned above water-level in much of the canyon, so you can only explore on foot or horseback. The park e rangers offer a “drop-off” service for hikers, they’ll leave you in one area of the park and for a small fee, and collect you later on in the day from another region.
