You’ll soon discover, there is a lot more to Denver than an amazing backdrop. It is one impressive city, full of interesting neighbourhoods and people, must-do attractions and a superb array of year-round events.
The hip and historic district is found in lower downtown, referred to as LoDo, and has the country's highest concentration of Victorian buildings. It is also full of quirky shops, brewhouses, cafes and al fresco dining. Stroll around the museum of Contemporary Art or the Colorado History museum, visit the U.S. Mint or the "Unsinkable Molly Brown" House. Or, head for High Tea at the palatial Brown Palace Hotel. This gem of a hotel opened its doors in 1892 and has hosted countless Presidents and gold-hunters heading to seek their fortune in the mountains. Every month of the year, there are festivals and activities taking place - most open to the public and free of charge.
Call Bon Voyage to discuss day trips available from Denver to the surrounding areas such as Rocky Mountain National Park, Garden of The Gods and Pike’s Peak Cog Railway.
All aboard the Rocky Mountaineer! You’ll have an amazing day full of new sights, amazing food and incredible hospitality. The best bit? The train only operates daylight hours, so you don’t have to worry about missing a single thing.
Breakfast is served whilst you relax in leather reclining seats looking out through oversized glass-dome windows with panoramic views. Feel free to stretch your legs and enjoy the outdoor viewing area, or sit tight and enjoy your spacious surroundings and Mother’s Nature showreel. Lunch, with local wines, will be served before you pull into the mountain resort town of Glenwood Springs at approximately 5pm. Famous for its hot springs, this is the place to pamper yourself with a soothing mineral soak!
When it’s time for dinner, Glenwood Springs has an eclectic culinary scene and only a short stroll from your hotel you’ll find local favourites like Colorado trout and Hanging Lake Honey Ale. Later in the evening check out the live music in a micro-brewery or a wine bar.
Western history buff? Amble over to Linwood cemetery where Doc Holiday, dentist turned gambler, turned gunslinger was buried when he died in Glenwood Springs of tuberculosis in 1887.
Enjoy another sumptuous breakfast on the Rocky Mountaineer as you cross the Colorado-Utah border. You'll notice a stark difference in the scenery as your view changes from alpine to dramatic red rock. Nothing will prepare you for the sightseeing experiences that lie ahead over the next few days. Just when you think the scenery can't get more impressive, it does! Arrive in the quirky town of Moab and check into your centrally located hotel.
Canyonlands National park is Utah's largest park and you'll discover seemingly endless deep canyons, towering mesas, pinnacles, cliffs, and spires stretching over 500 square miles. Equally as impressive, but on a smaller scale Dead Horse State Park. Don't be surprised if you have deja vu here as this area is featured heavily in the movie 'Thelma and Louise'. Both of which we'd be delighted to pre-book for you.
