Cape Breton Island is at the eastern end of Nova Scotia and is consistently bestowed 'best island' awards and accolades. The northern part of the island is home to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park which makes up part of the world-famous, Cabot Trail. The 186 mile route encircles the island passing through forests and along rugged coastline famous for whale watching.
